Colt identified a pressing need to upskill 236 first-time managers to transition successfully into their new roles. These managers needed guidance to:

  • Navigate their new responsibilities effectively.
  • Develop impactful leadership styles, particularly in managing virtual teams.
  • Drive results through enhanced problem-solving, delegation, and goal-setting skills.

Our Approach

  • Stepping Into Leadership’ was a 3- month program designed to enhance new managers’ skills through a blend of learning methods.
  • It focused on three key modules:
    • Understanding the new manager role.
    • Equipping Colt managers for feedback and performance conversations.
    • Driving results through goal-setting, delegation, and problem-solving.
  • The program combined role-plays, case studies, and real-world assignments to ensure practical application and measurable outcomes.

Outcomes

  • 83% of participants successfully completed the Stepping into Leadership program.
  • The program carried a certification criterion and– 52% participants have earned the Platinum Certification Badge.
  • A 96.5% positive movement was observed in participants’ leastapplied behaviour, reflecting substantial growth in managerial skills.
  • Improvements in engagement and belief in leadership effectiveness were evident, as highlighted in Colt’s “People Matters” survey.
